the motel has a large porch across the front that was nice to sit out on in the evening while the day was winding down. The gift shop is huge and has a little bit of everything but a bit pricey. We went on a tour of the cavern the next day and really enjoyed it! Our tour guide was very funny and did a great job of narrating the tour! Our daughter did the mining for gems which was fun and gave her something to do while waiting to go through the caverns which are right beside the motel. There is however, a snack shack in the resort right next door that’s open until 5 pm.

We stayed in the motel and our room was clean and nice and provided a mini fridge and full size coffee pot which came in handy! I would suggest maybe putting in a small microwave since dining options are a town away. Our family had not had a getaway in years so we planned one to Smoke Hole caverns resort.

Also, if your cabin sleeps 8, you should have seating in the kitchen living room area for 8. Thankfully we had other family members who brought their 5th wheel so we hung out with them on rainy days.

The tv was about a 12-14” that hung on the wall! We hardly watched tv while we were there but there were a couple rainy days that it would’ve come in handy but we forgot our binoculars at home. Our cabin slept 8 but no bedding was provided for the pull out couch/bed (8th sleeping location) so we went and bought some. The living room and dining room floors felt squishy and flexed as if they’re rotted underneath. One outlet in the living room for the tv and lamp. Our toaster was broken and only worked when it wanted to. The kitchen had 3.one for the fridge and microwave and the other 2 for everyone to take turns using when the coffee pot wasn’t being used. Not one bedroom had a single outlet in them. You also couldn’t have a bedroom light on without it disturbing the other bedroom while trying to sleep. The walls in the bedrooms also don’t go all the way to the ceilings so kids in other bedroom could peek into our room while they were on their bunk bed. There was wads of hair in each corner of our bedroom and the dust & sand was unbelievable. There were mice droppings everywhere - the bathroom, the kitchen, the floors and on “clean” dishes and silverware that were provided. However, we were extremely disappointed with our cabin. The staff was friendly and they have washers and dryers on site which came in handy. We were close to the water and my kids enjoyed the play area. The location is beautiful and the campground is well maintained.
