It's the sheer lack of any "public" facing help that's the most annoying part. I mean, I guess KDP/Amazon is trying to secure authors from having their accounts stolen and their works claimed by someone else. Man, no other institutions have been this difficult to deal with in changing my phone#, not even my banks or IRS. They sent some similar info, but I have to verify my identity with them first using my passport. I think it took me 5 different calls to "Customer Support" (which all just route to Amazon's account management and not KDP) before I tweeted KDP directly. That seems to be what they suggest to do per this info from KDP’s help section: Both contact options are forms to complete and then they contact you. Unfortunately it looks like there isn’t an email address or phone number that can be provided. Would someone be able to log into their KDP account and get me a phone # or a support email address I can use? which I can't do because I can't pass the 2FA which is still using my old phone# to log in! I don't want to create a new account a loose access to my other books. Also tried the one time password (OTP) which ALSO wants to send a notification to my old phone#.Ī google search of KDP contact info sends me to a KDP page where I need to first log in to access support. I've called 3 people now, spend 5 minutes each rehashing all my account info, only for them to tell me to contact KDP instead of Amazon. Following the options to "Remove it" for my old phone# and contact support funnel me to Amazon. I'm gearing up to self-publish my next novel, so I go to log into my KDP account, and the 2FA wants to send a code to my old phone#. As such, I got a new phone and new phone number (USA -> Canada).
